About Our Accounting Apprenticeships

If you are good with numbers and are interested in starting an exciting career in Accountancy, 3aaa has exactly what you are looking for, an Accounting Apprenticeship.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable young people who are keen to start a career in Accountancy. We will work with you on every step of your Apprenticeship journey.

Employers are increasingly recognising the value that apprentices bring to their business due to the combination of real life skills and experience that are gained during the programme. As well as developing your skills in a real life working environment and in the class room, you will also be earning money at the same time.

Our Accountancy Apprentices work towards the internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accountancy Technicians) and ultimately receive MAAT (Member of Association of Accountancy Technicians) status. We will support you every step of the way to help you find your perfect job within Accountancy.

You will work closely with our Recruitment Executives who are highly experienced in helping people just like you. With strong connections to hundreds of national and local employers, we know that we can support you in finding a great job in Accountancy.

Once employed you will be paid a minimum of £2.73* per hour.

Course Length:

  • Minimum of 12 months.

Fees:

  • Fully funded.

What you need:

  • To be aged 16 – 23 years old*
  • Ideally have 5 GCSE’s – Grade C and above.
  • English, Maths and ICT GCSE – Minimum of Grade C or equivalent.
  • 3 Years EU residency

The AAT Programme

At the start of the programme you will complete the Level 2 Bookkeeping introduction course or the Level AAT Level 2 qualification. This will ensure that you have the relevant skills and prepare you for the start of your main AAT Level 3 Certificate in Accountancy when you start your Apprenticeship.

AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accountancy

As well as working with your employer and learning valuable industry skills and knowledge, you will also work towards the internationally recognised AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accountancy. You will attend your Academy on a weekly day release with your remaining time being spent in the work place.

Within the Level 3 qualification you will complete the following 6 main modules:

  • Accounts preparation
  • Prepare final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
  • Cost and revenues
  • Professional ethics
  • Indirect tax
  • Spreadsheets software

When studying these modules and also within the work place, you will learn valuable skills that will help your reach your main goal; a career in Accountancy. These skills include:

  • Understanding fixed assets including purchase, depreciation and disposal
  • Learning profit and loss and balance sheets for sole traders and partnerships
  • Understanding the principles of VAT
  • Understanding ethical behaviour in the workplace and accountancy practice
  • Learning spreadsheets, software and data analysis tools and techniques
  • Management accountancy reports and costing mechanisms

AAT Level 4 Diploma in Accountancy

Once you have completed your Level 3 qualification you will then have a great opportunity to further develop your skills and progress onto a Level 4 Apprenticeship.

Just like the Level 3 qualification, this is a 12 month programme which involves you attending the Academy on a weekly day release basis with the remaining time being spent with your employer.

Within this advanced Level 4 qualification you will complete the following 4 modules:

  • Financial statements
  • Budgeting
  • Financial performance
  • Internal control and accountancy systems

Both of our AAT Accountancy programmes offer you an excellent head start in your Accountancy careers.

With 3aaa you will complete your Level 3 and 4 Apprenticeships within our Academy and the workplace and be fully qualified for industry in just 2 years. With the alternative route of Sixth Form and University, the same qualification will take 5 years to complete.
