Why use us?

  • +  The National College Partnership – a trading name of 3As Ltd was formed to support colleges in working through the challenges
  •       of employer engagement. We have developed a robust consultancy methodology which challenges and guides Colleges in
  •       answering a number of fundamental questions including:
  • +  Is employer engagement a core part of our future strategy?
  • +  What should our employer engagement strategy look like?
  • +  How do we position ourselves for the emerging cuts in public funding?
  • +  Are we equipped to apply for and achieve the new TQS?
  • +  What business models are required to deliver strong employer engagement?
  • +  What does the business plan look like and how should it be monitored?
  • +Account Management, Sales and Delivery co-ordination – who what and why?
  • +  New Models of Working partners or go it alone?
  • +  How can employer engagement bring a financial and qualitative return to the wider college?
  • +  Should employer engagement be outsourced? (fully, partially, not at all?)
  • +  How can modern Governance help move the employer engagement agenda forward?
  • +  How can we engage national employers at senior level and convert to new business?

How we work?

Our work supports a college’s focus on sector specialism and we are working with a number of Colleges to create partnerships with multi national clients from which they can build either a local, regional or national specialism.
The key to our work is our people. The consultancy is led by our Directors who each have extensive practical experience of running workforce development training – gained through working at senior levels in both the public and private sectors. They understand the challenges, have learnt many lessons and know the importance of high quality client service. This is not generic consultancy by a large multi national consultancy in the sector. Our delivery is by people who have been successful in growing businesses in this market and whom have worked in the public and private sector arenas.
Our experience of working with a number of Colleges has led us to discuss and consider alternative models of working for the future. We are working in true partnership to prepare Colleges for the exciting future that lies ahead for the sector. We work primarily with Principals and senior teams which has also involved presenting and facilitating at Governor sessions and strategic planning events.

We also offer a recruitment service for head hunting Senior staff in the employer engagement field. We have successfully placed a number of key post in colleges and training organisations over the past two years.

Our most recent work has incorporated working with Bedford College – one of the 157 group of colleges with an outstanding Ofsted report – on developing new and innovative delivery models for unemployed people to gain new skills and qualifications culminating in successful job outcomes with major staffing agencies. This work is supported by LSIS.

An increasing number of colleges are requesting support with outsourcing employer engagement or new leadership for this area of their organisation and are working with 3As to find solutions and innovative ways of working together towards an exciting future.

Our willingness to share our ideas and listen actively to the needs of our college partners and clients is also evidenced by our recent work shadowing activity – where senior college staff have spent time with colleagues from 3As and vice versa.
