3aaa Apprentice Beth Naqwi’s Accountancy Journey

3aaa Accountancy Apprentice, Beth Naqwi works for Smith Cooper, a Business Advisors and accountancy firm with 6 offices across the Midlands.

Beth began her Apprenticeship journey with 3aaa after finishing her GCSEs. She became an Apprentice because she wanted to learn vital skills within a real business environment, making an Apprenticeship a direct route into a career she would enjoy and excel in.

Smith Cooper

Smith Cooper chose to recruit Apprentices because they want to train their employees, providing them with opportunities for progression and development in-house.  It is the idea of recruiting an individual with the core skills and qualities that can be moulded to represent the firm, the culture and the behaviours Smith Cooper represent, which makes them recruit Apprentices.

She is not just doing the job, she is learning how to do the job through training…

Prior to being introduced to 3aaa, Smith Cooper worked with other training providers, yet decided to work with us because of the clear communication and understanding that we demonstrated. Smith Cooper have recruited 5 Apprentices from 3aaa Apprenticeships, each demonstrating enthusiasm and drive towards their job on a daily basis.

Both in training and in the workplace, Smith Cooper’s Apprentices are fully supported by all members of their workforce. By doing so, it enables the Apprentices to flourish in the workplace and focus on their career development and progression.

Beth recently completed her Level 3 programme, achieving a distinction. She is now moving onto her Level 4 Accountancy programme with Smith Cooper.

Beth at work

Emily Oliver, Insolvency Assistant Manager at Smith Cooper spoke about Beth: “Having Beth, both train in accountancy and work in an accountancy firm, you can see the link between her studies in the academy sessions and coming to work for us. In terms of her workload, having the financial figures to back up, she is not just doing the job, she is learning how to do the job through training, and she is applying that in her day to day tasks. “

3aaa Apprenticeships are thrilled with the progress Beth has made during her time at Smith Cooper and through high-quality training at the 3aaa Derby training academy, we hope she makes the same progress in her Level 4 as she did in her Level 3 programme.
