3aaa welcome delegates to the London Stadium for our Levy Conference

On Wednesday 8th November 2017, we welcomed a range of our partners and delegates to our latest Apprenticeship Levy Conference at the spectacular London Stadium.

The day started with world-renowned speaker, Richard Gerver giving his inspirational insight into ‘The Learning and Development Journey’, where he used various anecdotes and his past experiences to give his unique thoughts on how different people are taught and motivated.

Our Group CEO and Joint Owner, Peter Marples then discussed how the levy looks, 6 months on and what has changed from how we initially thought that things would pan out. Within this, he spoke about the experiences of the levy’s ‘early adopters’ and offered his predictions for the future of the levy as well as a range of other engaging topics.

Our next guest speaker was David Murley, Corporate Partnerships Manager for CMI (Chartered Management Institute). David spoke about how our delegates could utilise the Levy to upskill their talented managers, giving an insight into CMI’s programmes and how they could be delivered by us to add value to a range of different organisations across the country.

After lunch, our National Customer Experience Advisor, Luke Culling discussed how we are currently working with MATs (Multi Academy Trusts) and explained Ark’s levy journey so far. Luke has been working closely with Ark and our delegates enjoyed hearing about how we support their recruitment and work closely with them to ensure that they bring in the very best candidates.

Before our guests enjoyed the guided tour of the London Stadium, Alison Gray, Human Resources Director of Delaware North fittingly spoke about their levy journey so far and the lessons that they have learnt along the way. Feedback from our guests suggested that this was extremely helpful as they were offered a real-life example of how a large organisation is approaching the levy and putting a strategy in place to benefit their talented workforce.

Our regular Levy Conferences take place to inform and inspire our delegates and give them an excellent platform to network with industry experts as well as sharing their experiences with other organisations. Our next two conferences will be held on Friday 9th February 2018 and Tuesday 15th May 2018. More information will be released shortly regarding the location, agenda and themes for the day.

All of the presentations from the day were recorded and will be published as articles on our website and across our social media platforms. Please keep an eye out for these over the next couple of weeks. For now, you can watch a short video of the conference below:
