Network Engineer Level 4

Course Overview

Our Network Engineer Level 4 programme gives employees the skills to design, install, maintain and support communication networks both within organisations or between them. They will then go on to understanding network configuration, cloud, network administration, monitoring tools, and be able to give technical advice and guidance.

Over the course of up to 24 months, we support our Network Engineer Apprentices to advance their career in Technology whilst giving them the knowledge to apply directly to their specific job role.

Modules

Module One

Network Principles

This module covers the range of concepts, approaches and techniques that are applicable to network principles, for which learners are required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.

Module Two

Network Systems & Architecture

This module covers the range of concepts, approaches and techniques that are applicable to network systems & architecture, for which learners are required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.

Module Three

Network Security

This module covers the range of concepts, approaches and techniques that are applicable to network security, for which participants are required to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.

Learning & Assessment

Over the course of the programme, participants will have monthly contact with their learning coach, either through face-to-face visits or telephone contact. The coach will guide them through the tasks that will allow them to demonstrate competence and underpin the knowledge required to achieve success.

Are you eligible?

Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include A levels; a level 3 Apprenticeship or other relevant qualification; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths.

Hiring a Network Engineer Apprentice will support your business’s IT needs, providing internal and external assistance.

We can work with you to source a suitable applicant for your business or you can up-skill your existing employees. If the employee is under 19 and your business has less than 50 employees, there will be no cost for the training. If they are over 19 and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 10% towards the cost of the training.

Did you know that you could claim back the National Insurance Contributions for your Apprentices depending on their age? If your business has hired an Apprentice since 6th April 2016, who is aged under 25 and is enrolled on an Apprenticeship, you can claim back your National Insurance Contributions for them. Depending on the salary of your Apprentice, this could amount to a significant saving. By changing your employer contribution category for Apprentices who meet these criteria you will save your business money.
