Software Tester Level 4

Course Overview

Our Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship gives apprentices the chance to learn within a working environment and develop the skills required to work in a software tester role. Following the programme, learners will understand how to use testing tools, and the concepts behind the testing tools.

Over the course of this Level 4 Apprenticeship, participants will develop their understanding of how testing tools are used and and applied,and the main concepts behind their use.

Modules

Module One

Testing Tools

Learners will understand and be able to apply concepts of software testing, then learning how to use and apply automated testing tools and understanding the importance of accuracy and clear documentation.

Module Two

Testing Concepts

In this module, learners will look at industry standard software development paradigms, and then understand security and requirements that surround it. They’ll also cover the role of software testing within the systems development life cycle and understand the need for conformance to specific standards.

Learning & Assessment

Over the course of the 18-24 month Apprenticeship, learners will receive close training from their 3aaa trainer in one of our 38 training academies.

During the academy sessions, Apprentices will be covering a range of modules that will be tailored towards their roles and responsibilities, learning about the concepts behind their tasks within the workplace and being able to develop themselves with key industry experience.

Are you eligible?

Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include A levels; a level 3 Apprenticeship or other relevant qualification; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths.

Hire a Software Tester Apprentice

Hiring a Software Tester Apprentice will support your business’s software needs, providing internal support to your organisation.

We can work with you to source a suitable applicant for your business or you can up-skill your existing employees. If the employee is under 19 and your business has less than you employees, there will be no cost for the training. If they are over 19 and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 10% towards the cost of the training.

National Insurance Contribution rebate for Apprentices

Did you know that you could claim back the National Insurance Contributions for your Apprentices depending on their age? If your business has hired an Apprentice since 6th April 2016, who is aged under 25 and is enrolled on an Apprenticeship, you can claim back your National Insurance Contributions for them. Depending on the salary of your Apprentice, this could amount to a significant saving. By changing your employer contribution category for Apprentices who meet these criteria you will save your business money.
