Your local 3aaa Academy is continually working with enthusiastic and motivated young people who are keen to get a head start in their IT career. Our Apprentices receive bespoke IT training which has been designed and tailored to meet the continually evolving IT industry.

Your dedicated Recruitment Executive will also work with you to understand the requirements of your business and help you to select the most suitable Apprentice.

3aaa will ensure all Apprentices have a minimum level of English, Maths and IT at GCSE C Grade.

Technical Details

Course Length:

  • Minimum of 12 months

  • Salaries for Apprentices start at £2.86** an hour,  but in a competitive market some employer choose to pay more.

Your Apprentice will work towards:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals
  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT, Maths or English (Where applicable)

Your Apprentice will learn how to:

  • Strip down and repair computers
  • Change computer components
  • Install, configure and update a range of operating systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on PC’s and simple networks
  • Install and configure peer to peer networks
  • Understand the basics of server networks
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and test a range of software applications
  • Test and evaluate computer software and code
  • Build and test websites

Meeting your business needs:

Our Apprenticeship programme is focused on the needs of our employers. It evolves based on regular employer feedback and can be adapted to meet the requirements of all businesses.

Your Apprentice will initially complete a 12 month Level 3 programme with the expectation that they will have developed the required capability and be undertaking a challenging role that will allow them to progress onto a 12 month Level 4 IT Apprenticeship programme.

As their employer you have the opportunity to shape and identify the most appropriate training for your Apprentice and your business. This innovative programme offers a holistic approach to learning which includes classroom led teaching, practical sessions and work-based employer mentoring.

Up to 10 weeks is spent in the 3aaa Training Academy understanding all technical aspects of an IT position, followed by continuous on-the-job learning to reinforce the competency requirements for the Apprentices job role.

Age Grant

The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers of 16 to 24 year-olds supports businesses that would not otherwise be in a position to do so, to recruit individuals aged 16 to 24 into employment through the Apprenticeship programme.
