About the Apprenticeship

If you a Technology Apprentice looking to progress from your Level 3 IT programme, our Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in IT is exactly what you are looking for!

The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in IT will build on previous Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms, allowing you to take your skills to the next level. The focus of the Apprenticeship is on self-directed research study and assignment completion.

This programme will last for 12 months in total and will involve you attending the Training Academy on day release for up to a maximum of 20 Academy training days. The remaining time is spent in the workplace with your employer.

As a higher IT Apprentice, you can expect to follow various career paths with this Apprenticeship programme in job roles such as;

  • IT Network Manager
  • IT Analyst
  • IT Engineer

What qualifications will you work towards?

  • Level 4 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals
  • Level 4 HNC in Systems Development

The diploma units are delivered and assessed in the workplace and the HNC units are delivered during day release to the 3aaa Training Academy.

As part of the Level 4 Apprenticeship you will complete the following qualification units:

  • Develop own effectiveness and professionalism
  • Customer care in ICT
  • Technical fault diagnosis
  • Working with ICT hardware and equipment
  • Security of ICT systems

The HNC in Systems Development

  • Business skills for e-commerce
  • Computer systems
  • Employability and professional development
  • Project design implementation and evaluation
  • Emerging technologies
  • Networking technologies

Entry Requirements

  • Aged 16-23 years*
  • Completion of Level 3 Apprenticeship in IT
  • A minimum of Grade C or above at GCSE Level in English, Maths and ICT (or equivalents in Key/Functional Skills).
  • A minimum of 1 years commitment

3aaa now offer the Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in IT programme so that your Apprentice can progress even further. The focus of the Apprenticeship is on self-directed research, study and assignment completion. It is a 12 month programme where your Apprentice will attend the Training Academy on day release for up to a maximum of 20 Academy training days. Their remaining time is spent with you in the work place.

Higher IT Apprentices can expect to follow one of a number of career paths with this Apprenticeship programme in job roles such as;

As this is a higher level qualification, your Apprentice will need to be able to demonstrate supervisory responsibilities within their role either through job progression or project work.

Your dedicated Recruitment Executive will be on hand to discuss any questions you have regarding the Level 4 Apprenticeship programme. An Assessor will regularly visit you and your Apprentice in the workplace to carry out onsite reviews and assessments. This ensures that your Apprentice is on track with their work and that you as their employer are fully informed of their progress.
