3aaa “An Outstanding Apprenticeship Provider” – Ofsted November 2014

picture 2

We are delighted to announce that 3aaa have now become the only independent training provider to achieve Ofsted Grade 1 Outstanding in all areas on a first inspection.

3aaa, Founded by Peter Marples and Di McEvoy-Robinson in 2008, places a huge emphasis on employing high-quality, industry-experienced staff, delivering Outstanding Apprenticeship Programmes that are developed with a focus on providing industry led skills and experience.

The team of 8 inspectors judged all measures of success as Outstanding; Effectiveness of Leadership and Management, Outcomes for Learners, Quality of Teaching Learning and Assessment and Overall Effectiveness; in their report published today. In addition Grade 1 was awarded for all subject areas.

With its Head office based in Derby and a local training centre in all major cities or towns throughout England, 3aaa is a success story that is changing the lives of young people on a daily basis.  3aaa provide Apprenticeships in professional services including Accountancy, IT, Social Media, Business Administration, Financial Services and Technical Sales.

Peter Marples, Founder, commentsWe are absolutely delighted to have achieved Grade 1 – Outstanding, the highest possible across all areas of the business, in our first Ofsted Inspection.  This is indeed a reflection of the sheer dedication, hard work and commitment of everyone; staff, employers and partners – we are so proud”

Di McEvoy-Robinson, Founder, added “We are so thrilled with the grading and hugely positive report.  This will help inspire us all to continue to deliver our ‘Outstanding’ programmes and change more and more young people’s lives for the better.  We have worked exceptionally hard to understand the needs of employers at a local level and fit those needs, so to be recognised by Ofsted for this is such an achievement”.

group

The ‘Outstanding’ grading is unique in that 3aaa are the first to achieve Grade 1 across the board as a National Provider, covering multi sectors.  Only 2% of all other providers have achieved an Outstanding Grade in total, 3aaa being the first to do so in a first inspection.

Key findings from the report:

  • Leaders and managers are fully committed to their ambitious vision to be the best provider.
  • The proportion of Apprentices who succeed within the planned period is extremely high and well above the national rate.
  • All staff offer extremely high levels of personal, pastoral and professional support to Apprentices and employers.
  • Staff are particularly knowledgeable and teach innovatively and effectively so that Apprentices learn rapidly and make excellent progress.
  • Employers have exceedingly high expectations of each other and of Apprentices.  This is manifested in their diligence and enthusiasm to do well and improve continuously.
  • Employers have very high expectations of their Apprentices, often giving them vital roles in their companies.
  • A highly motivational environment, culture and ethos which nurtures and develops Apprentices’ aspirations, ambitions and confidence.
  • Most Apprentices occupy key roles and become pivotal to their business very quickly.  For example an IT Apprentice, who started his apprenticeship in September 2014, assists with the development and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for a professional football club.

That Apprentice is Jurij Fletcher who is 17 and is working for Derby County Football Club. He commented “My whole experience with 3aaa has been positive, they took the time to really get to know me and now I have a fantastic employer in Derby County Football Club. It’s an amazing opportunity where I’m learning new skills every day and I’m earning a wage – I can’t thank 3aaa enough”.

Stewart Segal, Chief Executive Officer, Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) said “We are delighted that AELP members Aspire Achieve Advance have achieved Grade 1′s from Ofsted across the board.  This is a fantastic achievement given the fact that 3aaa has responded to the need to grow their programme so quickly and meet the demand from employers and learners.  It is not easy for any provider delivering work based learning to meet the exacting standards Ofsted apply and there have not been many Grade 1s under the new framework.  This makes it an even more outstanding result”

Karl Shaw, Director of Silver Birch Creative said “3aaa have a different approach to other training providers; they were fully committed to finding us an Apprentice that would perfectly fit the needs of our business and supported us every step of the way. They sat down with us and made an effort to understand the nature of our business, making it their mission to find us the right Apprentice. We’ve now welcomed Jake to the family, and are all very eager to see where this novel addition of skills and understanding will take us”

3aaa Supporting Derbyshire Exiles in London

Pete Cricket

On Wednesday evening a group from 3aaa will be joining  supporters of Derbyshire County Cricket Club from across the country in the Long Room at Lord’s.

This event, which will be hosted by former Derbyshire and England pace man Dominic Cork and will include a talk from former ECB Chairman of Selectors, Geoff Miller, will raise money for the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation.  As partners of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, we’re delighted to be supporting this event and know that the 3aaa staff and clients that attend the event will have a great time.

Our relationship with DCCC supports the ethos of the ‘Power of Sport’ that we have at 3aaa.  We know that sports people make great role models for the Apprentices who work with 3aaa, that the coaching and mentoring that is seen in sport is transferable into great management in the workplace and that the relationships that sports clubs have with their local business community give us a great opportunity to engage with employers who may take on an Apprentice in the future.

We will be sharing pictures and comments from the night through our social media channels using #3aaaatlords

3aaa raises more than £7,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support

3aaa-(55)

On Friday the whole of the 3aaa Team came together for our annual company conference and awards. This was a great celebration of all that we have achieved as an organisation – particularly focusing on the investment that we have made in opening new Academies across England and the resulting record numbers of young people for whom we are finding Apprenticeship opportunities every week.

As part of our celebration and awards we held a prize draw for some fantastic prizes that we donated by our owners, Peter Marples and Di McEvoy-Robinson, and our Chairman, Derek Mapp. This prize draw, along with an impromptu auction raised more than £3,500 which was then matched pound for pound by Peter and Di. As a result, at the end of a great evening of fun, we were able to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support of more than £7,000.

You’ll now find a 3aaa Academy in Bedford, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Derby, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Tamworth, Watford and Worcester.

We’ll soon be opening Academies in Croydon, Guildford, Maidstone, Northampton, Norwich, Reading and Southampton.

House of Lords celebration event draws closer!

TD2_7004

Our annual Apprentice and Employer awards event is getting closer as the night’s draw in and this year’s event promises to be as exciting as previous occasions.

We have been inundated with requests for places from Employers/Apprentices and staff but sadly we are only allowed 150 places in total, so many apologies to everyone who is asking for a place.

TD2_6644

From the long list of nominees, through to those shortlisted, the winners have now been chosen and these will be announced at the House of Lords event. We know everyone is very excited and it is a shame we can’t have more winners as we have so many outstanding Apprentices and Employers. There will be 8 Apprentice of the Year awards and 8 Employer of the Year awards and hopefully some excellent coverage on the day with photographs and a video which we can share with everyone.”

You’ll now find a 3aaa Academy in Bedford, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Derby, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Tamworth, Watford and Worcester.

A Record Breaking Week for 3aaa

young professionals

Last week we achieved a record number of Applicants into Jobs. Across our Academies we placed 74 young people into sustainable and fulfilling jobs with some of the most innovative companies in the country.

74 young people will soon be starting their careers as Apprentices working in roles in IT, Accounting and Social Media. This achievement is all down to the relationships that we have with our Employers and Applicants that are fostered at a local level. We are the only provider with a geographical spread of Academies across the country that gets us close to Employers and young people regardless of their location.

Commenting on this achievement Andy Palmer, 3aaa Managing Director, said “We have had an amazing start to the year with record numbers of young people finding Apprenticeship roles through us on a weekly basis. The investment that we have made in opening new Academies during the last year is now paying off and it is great to see so many satisfied Employers and Apprentices working with 3aaa. With more Academies opening throughout the year I expect many many more young people to be in Apprenticeships with 3aaa by the end of the year”.

You’ll now find a 3aaa Academy in Bedford, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Derby, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Tamworth, Watford and Worcester.

We’ll soon be opening Academies in Croydon, Guildford, Maidstone, Northampton, Norwich, Reading and Southampton.
